- Music's my first love, from Bach to Brubeck, world, klezmer, fado . . . read a lot -- natural science, science fiction, mysteries (e.g., Donna Leon, Venice; Stuart Kaminsky, Moscow), history and historical fiction . . . thoroughly enjoyed R.K.Narayan's Malgudi Days . . . love to ballroom dance, do virtually any . . .garden a bit, but having retired to the East Coast from the other side of the continent (like San Francisco (my native land) and Los Angeles), still learning about seasons . . . have been to Spain (lived in Madrid for a year) and Scotland, both twice, now learning Italian but little hope of getting there; academic background in traditional lore, especially Romania . . . have done editing, taught college English, also worked in city planning . . . take computer courses, like Powerpoint, because generally computer illiterate . . . also aerobics three times a week . . . love animals . . . three grown children in California, North Carolina, and New York, near me . . . my parents were from the Philippines, but the northern island of Luzon, not the central area now utterly devastated . . . enjoy eating new foods but not particularly fond of turnips . . . watch Big Bang Theory on TV and also Grimm . . . looking forward to making new friends, especially from other countries, but welcome hearing from others within these wide borders.
