Hello there! Before I begin my introduction, I have had my fair share of less than desirable letters/penpals over the years, so I just have to get a couple of things out of the way first: 1. I am married... very happily so, and I am NOT looking for romance, or any correspondence with anyone who has intentions beyond friendship - that includes men *and* women. 2. If you have any intentions on asking me now (or ever) for plane tickets, money, help with visas or green cards, please do save yourself the time and move along, as it will be a lost cause. 3. I have never, nor will ever, write to prisoners/inmates. 4. I am not interested in the least, in writing to men. Thus, I will not reply to men who contact me. 5. I must say that I am not a religious person at all. Although I enjoy discussing theology and different religious traditions at times, I do not enjoy someone preaching to me. Thus, if you have a tendency of writing "preachy" letters, please "do not apply". Ok, with that out the way, hehe... and now that I seem like a completely unapproachable person (which I promise, I am not...) HELLO! :) I am a 35 year old, married gal. I have a few fur-children, but no "real" kids. I am not interested in having oodles and oodles of penpals - just a couple of lovely people with whom I can develop a nice snail mail friendship with that can last. I am happy with sharing in the familiarity of life from those in North America, although I am very interested in learning about life in other parts of the world as well. When it comes to writing and receiving letters, I enjoy "medium" length letters the most...not one-pagers, but not ones that are novels in disguise. I LOVE reading long letters, but I am quite busy most of the time and not always able to return a letter of the same length. My average letter is about 5 pages in length (hand-written, and I write very small) or longer if typed (I don't write form letters and don't like them in return)... just in case size matters to you. :) I would love to write to someone who has some of the same interests as me, but would also love to learn about interests you have that we may not share. I have a wide variety of interests - computers, design (graphic and interior), art and crafty stuff (LOVE indie craft!), music (pretty much all music except for metal and country), animals, reading (non-fiction), philosophy, psychology, documentaries, the outdoors, and lots more. I am pretty easy-going, have a very strange sense of humour, believe that everyone should have the freedom to be who they want to be, and I try to be kind to everyone I meet...even on those days when it's reaalllyyy hard to be. :) The "perfect" penpal candidate for me would be someone who: - Is honest and open-minded - you can have a discussion and hear another person's point of view and express your own without getting your panties in a knot. :) - Isn't racist, homophobic, sexist, ageist, or prejudice. -Does not have any ulterior motives. - Likes to swap small goodies in the mail from time to time, but doesn't expect it. - Doesn't freak out if at times I don't write back IMMEDIATELY... hey, life happens, right? I will give you the same respect and understanding. - Most importantly... is genuine and fun to "talk" to. :) If this sounds like you, please feel free to drop me a line, tell me a little bit about yourself and include your address.
