- Hi, my name's José Zapata. I'm from Maturín, Monagas State, Venezuela. Monagas is an eastern state in Venezuela, with a tropical weather. I'm an English language teacher, I studied Education at Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (UPEL) in Maturín, capital of Monagas, UPEL is a university that graduates teachers, in my case my major was Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Right now I have two jobs, one in a high school, as a secondary teacher and the other one in a language institute called Smart Learning Center.
About me, I can tell you, I'm very easygoing and sociable. I love making friends, so I hope I can make friends on this website. I love reading, topics like philosophy, linguistics, history, culture, education, etc, sexuality, etc. Besides, I love sports, specifically Baseball (favorite sport in Venezuela), Basketball and Football (Soccer), I also love Volleyball.
I love meeting people from other countries because I can get a new perspective of life, I learn about cultures and languages. Moreover, I really love languages, I hope to learn another language, such as French.
I'm here because I'm planning to work and study, well, to live in Vancouver, Canada. I love Canadian culture, so I hope I can make good friends from British Columbia, Canada, specifically from Vancouver because I want to study at UBC.
